O respeito pelos mortos

245goldwaser_regev.jpg

As oportunidades perdidas e desperdiçadas.

Five Lebanese activists freed(released) on Wednesday, July 16th by Israel were welcomed like a hero in the South of Beirut by the leader of the Hezbollah Hassan Nasrallah and the tens of thousand persons. It was about the first public appearance since last January of the leader of the Shiite movement.
Nasrallah declared to the tens of thousand persons come celebrate the liberation of the activists that " the era of the defeats is past, and the era of the victories arrived " for Hezbollah.
" These people, this nation gave a big and clear image today to his(her) friends and his(her) enemies, that she cannot be beaten ", he declared.

Ceremony at the airport

Nasrallah rose on the stage, surrounded with his bodyguards, to shake hands and give the embrace to five men(people), arrived in the Lebanese capital having been freed(released) in exchange for the bodies of two Israeli soldiers restored by Hezbollah to the Hebrew State. They had a little bit before summer welcomed as national heroes also by the president, the government and all the political strengths of the country come greet them during a ceremony on the airport of the capital.
Hezbollah has according to his(her) reached(affected) leader both objectives fixed following the war between Israel and the Shiite militia to summer, 2006, which had exactly been started by the removal(kidnapping) of both Israeli soldiers: the liberation of all the Lebanese prisoners in Israel and the formation(training) of a coalition government in the Lebanon.

Speech pronounced since a secret place

Appearing in public for the third time only since the war of 2006, Nasrallah addressed the crowd later in a speech pronounced since a secret place and broadcast by video.
One of the freed(released) prisoners, Samir Kantar, who had been condemned for murders committed in dirty circumstances in 1979 in Israel, promised to the partisans of the Hezbollah that he would continue to fight(dispute) the Hebrew State.
" I returned of Palestine today, but believe in me, I shall not return before having returned to Palestine ", he threw(launched) to the crowd in jubilation. " I promises to my people and to my close relations in Palestine that I shall return with my companions of the brave Islamic resistance ".
Samir Kantar was 16 years old and belonged to the Liberation front of Palestine ( FLP) when he participated in an attack in Israel which caused the death of four persons, among which a father and his four-year-old daughter. He(it) still denied having killed the girl, but has never shown remorse for the murders.

" Your return is a new victory "

The important gathering on Wednesday in the South of Beirut, bastion of Hezbollah, underlined once again the influence of the Shiite armed group in the Lebanon. With its support for Samir Kantar, stemming from the Druze community, Hezbollah seems to want to gain(win) the confidence(trust) of more Lebanese still, but also the other Arabic populations.
In the afternoon, the president Michel Sleimane, the Prime Minister Fouad Siniora and the members of the main political formations of the country, even those opposite to Hezbollah, were collected to welcome prisoners at the airport with a supposed ceremony to symbolize the national unity(unit) in front of Israel.
Put back(Handed) by Israel to Red Cross, five Lebanese activists were then transported aboard two military helicopters of the border city of Naqoura in the capital.
" Your return is a new victory and the future with you will be only a brilliant walking(march) in which we shall obtain the sovereignty of our earth(ground) and the freedom of the people ", declared Michel Sleimane. " I congratulate the resistance (Hezbollah, EDITOR'S NOTE) for this exploit ". ( AP)
